Manchester United's mercurial genius — European Footballer of the Year 1968 and arguably the most naturally gifted British player of all time.

George Best was described by Pelé as "the greatest player in the world." His dribbling, pace and two-footedness at Manchester United in the late 1960s produced some of the most exhilarating football ever seen in England. His battles with alcoholism ultimately ended a career that might otherwise have produced even greater achievements. He died in November 2005.
