Clyde the Glide — one of the most complete guards in NBA history, whose explosive athleticism, playmaking and championship with Houston in 1995 placed him in the very highest tier.
Clyde Drexler was one of the most complete shooting guards in NBA history. His combination of scoring, playmaking, rebounding and athleticism made him the only guard of his era considered comparable to Michael Jordan. He reached the NBA Finals twice — losing with Portland in 1990 and 1992 — before winning the championship with the Houston Rockets in 1995.
He was widely regarded as Michael Jordan's closest equal among shooting guards — a comparison Jordan reportedly took as a personal challenge.
