Wales's most prolific striker of the late 1980s and 1990s — a quick, intelligent forward who scored at every club he played for.
Dean Saunders earned 75 Wales caps and scored 22 international goals — a record that stood for many years. He was an expensive signing for Aston Villa (£2.3m in 1992) and later Liverpool, becoming one of Wales's most recognised footballing exports. His goal in the 1994 League Cup final against Manchester United helped Villa win the trophy.
He became the most capped outfield player for Wales at the time with 75 appearances.
