Prince Naz — the most flamboyant and naturally gifted British boxer of his generation, an unbeaten featherweight champion whose showmanship was as remarkable as his power.
Prince Naseem Hamed was unbeaten in 35 professional fights before his only career defeat to Marco Antonio Barrera in 2001. His combination of extraordinary natural power, unorthodox southpaw style and theatrical ring entrances made him the most entertaining British boxer of his era. His vaulting over the ring ropes and shadow-boxing around the ring became iconic. He won the WBO featherweight title 15 times.
His ring entrances — involving elaborate costumes, music and vaulting over the ropes — cost more to produce than the prize money in some of his early fights.
