Peter Schmeichel is widely regarded as the greatest goalkeeper in English football history. His commanding physical presence, shot-stopping ability and organisation of his defence were without equal in the Premier League era. He won five Premier League titles and the Champions League with Manchester United. His son Kasper also became an international goalkeeper.

He is the only goalkeeper ever to score for Manchester United in a Premier League match.
