Chariots Offiah — the most explosive winger in rugby league history and the first black player to be celebrated as a genuine superstar of the British winter sports calendar.

Martin Offiah was the most devastating finisher in rugby league history. His combination of electrifying pace, sidestep and finishing ability produced an extraordinary 501 career tries — a record that no one has come close to matching. He won the Wigan treble in 1993-94 and his try in the Challenge Cup final that year — a 90-metre interception sprint — is considered the greatest individual try in the final's history.

His try in the 1994 Challenge Cup final at Wembley — intercepting and racing 90 metres — is universally considered the greatest moment in the cup final's history.
